Covid affects us all
Whether you have had the virus or not, this pandemic is affecting us all.
In a personal way, I have had to reexamine the past twenty years in which I spoke to a million people and travelled a million miles.I have not been on an airplane for a year and do not foresee a time in the near future where I will be back in the air and back on the road.
What I could not foresee was where this would take me.
Since mid-January, I have spoken to as many and more people than I ever have in the similar time period at any time in the last twenty years. Through Zoom, Teams, Meet and Skype, I have presented almost every day and I usually do several presentations every day.
I am hooking up with classrooms, schools, educators and parents. Many, if not most, of my presentations have beem in French which is likely the result of isolated Francophone communities now having access to a Francophone Metis online - thus reachable and affordable.
When the pandemic restrictions are finally lifted, I believe that much of the world will continue to use some of the initiatives we have been forced to undertake. And that is good news.
My carbon footprint on Mother Earth has been greatly diminished without having affected the work I do as I try to share my learnings, my love of reading and my belief in how education could and should change to better serve every student, educator and parent.
